Final report on the development of atmospheric environmental science and technology discipline (published at the beginning of 2016)

Since May 2014, the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences and several experts and scholars in the field of atmospheric environment have formed a research team, and with the support of the China Association for Science and Technology, they have begun to prepare this "2014-2015 Environmental Science and Technology Discipline Development Report (Atmosphere). Environmental), systematic review of the progress of scientific research, technology research and development and management practices of atmospheric environmental science and technology in the past five years, has been completed recently, is being edited. More than 200,000 words of knowledge will be deposited and will be seen in the early spring of 2016.

The book includes a comprehensive report as a general comment, as well as a special report on five in-depth areas, all of which are written by senior scientists. Chief Scientist Professor Gao Xiang of Zhejiang University, responsible for comprehensive report and special report IV "Air Pollution Control Technology", Professor Shao Min of Peking University is responsible for the special report "Basic Research on Atmospheric Environment", Researcher Liu Jianguo, Institute of Material Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, responsible for the special report II “Atmospheric Environmental Monitoring Technology”, Professor Qi Haidong of Fudan University, responsible for the special report “Atmospheric Environment and Health”, Professor Wang Shuxiao of Tsinghua University, responsible for the special report “Air Quality Management Technology and Practice”.

Since the "London Smoke Incident" and the "Loss Photochemical Smog Event" in the middle of the 20th century, atmospheric environmental science research, technology research and development and management policy implementation have entered the year of ear. However, whether in the positive or negative sense, the current atmospheric pollution problems faced by China and other developing countries are unprecedented. It is appropriate to use "stand on a new historical node".

Starting from the meaning of criticism and construction, I hope that the publication of this book can attract scientific and technological workers from different disciplines to think and explore together, scientifically understand the atmospheric environment and seek a rational solution.

After all, faced with the question of hundreds of millions of people, I hope the answer is not in the wind.
